6 Steps Success Guide to Dental Implants!
Before we dive deeper into the dental implant procedure as a whole it’s worth taking a closer look at the steps in short. They include:
- Damaged tooth removal (where applicable)
- Jawbone preparation (bone grafting) if applicable
- Dental implant surgery (placement)
- Bone growth and healing (osseointegration)
- Abutment placement
- Permanent dental crown (the artificial tooth)
And while it may seem a lot of steps, do remember that this entire process is carried out over several months. So without further ado, let’s take a look in more details.
Step 1: X-Ray
Need a precise estimate for eligibility evaluation. We will provide a CT bone density scan, which will control the thickness, width, and depth of your jaw. Before signing your consent on the treatment form, you will also be given an X-ray review to investigate further.
Step 2: Extract the Tooth
When a patient chooses a dental implant, more than half of his/her teeth have fallen. In this situation, we have three choices
- The patient needs a single implant
- The patient needs multiple implants
- The patient needs full mouth implants
In every case, it becomes necessary for the patient to relieve pain or to remove the damaged teeth.
Step 3(if required): Sinus lift or Bone Graft
Before placing a dental implant, the specialist always checks the quality of Bones. If the bones are not suitable in the right proportion, then bone graft or sinus lift could help in treatment, to make the bone healthy. In some cases, bone graft and sinus lift treatments also do not produce results. For that, the dentist advises the patient to go to Zygoma implant or Basal implant. This treatment increases the time of dental implant placement.
Step 4: Implant Placement
Anesthesia and sedation solutions are ready to ensure that the treatment remains almost painless. To put a dental implant during surgery, your oral surgeon makes you cut to open your bone and expose the bone. We drill Holes in the bone where a dental implant is placed in the metal post. Because the post-teeth will work as a root, it will deep-set in the bone. At this point, you will still have a gap where your teeth are missing. If needed, partial, We can put the temporary prosthesis in place for appearance. You can remove this later for cleaning or when you sleep.
Step 5: After Implants
You will now be awake with implants an hour or more. After a few hours, we will fit your implants, and the day’s treatment will be complete. You will be able to resume normal activities within a day or so. After about 10-14 days, We will eliminate your stitches, and you can start eating soft solid foods; after about eight weeks you can eat normally.
Step 6: Impressions
After about four to five months, the impression is taken to start building your final bridge. Generally, it takes some appointments to make sure your new teeth look good. Twice a year, it is required to have a check-up and visit our hygienist to secure the long-term success of your implants.

What exactly happens in surgery?
Dental implants are titanium hooks, which perform as tooth root replacements. We do surgical set into the jawbone. Tiny posts are then attached to the implant, which protrudes through the gums. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth. For many patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, we place the implant within your jawbone. For the first four to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums gradually bonding with the jawbone. You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. At the same time, your restorative dentist designs the final bridgework or denture, which will ultimately improve both function and aesthetics. After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the second phase begins. Your oral surgeon will uncover the implants and attach a small healing collar. Then, the doctors will be able to start making your new teeth. The dentist will take an impression. Then posts or attachments can be connected to the implants. The entire procedure usually takes six to eight months. Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily routines.

Now people are move on to cost, time, ease, and durability as well as precision. During this time, we did a Small survey after understanding the benefits and loss of the patient about the dental implant. Its final choice has been asked.
